For the last two weeks, Anne has been busy screening applications and interviewing potential nannies. I am pleased to report that a decision has been made, and that the successful applicant is ...
... to be named when she starts work. Even though she is due to commence in just one week, there is much to be organised before then, so I believe it is prudent to wait a little longer to make a proper introduction. Anne and I have moved on to the next exciting step of drawing up a contract and making arrangements for wages, tax and superannuation. Check back next week, though, to welcome her.
What's wrong with cheap thrills?
The disappointment of deleting the old blog was short-lived, as it gave me the perfect excuse to try out a new content management system, Drupal, and renewed motivation to generate fresh content. Playing around with Drupal was even more exciting than putting the new iMac through its paces and, without boring you with the details, I found Drupal to be far more fun and user-friendly than its reputation suggests. Sure, it may be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but that's the way I like it!

Neurologists have a weird sense of humour. For example, I hear from a reliable source that my mate Andrew Wong's business card bears the slogan, "Let my brain fix yours." I hope his patients get a good chuckle out of that (it's just a pity that so many neurological diseases are incurable). I have nothing so interesting on my business card, the best I could manage was this logo, which is far less amusing (if you don't "get it", you're more normal than most neurologists). More groan-worthy than both of those is the name of a long-established neurosurgery practice: BrizBrain (& Spine).
